  1. Sorry what's "paly" ?? Forgot I have a couple of goniopora and the Emperor is ignoring them...... really nice emperor i got - prefers pellets to live brine shrimp ! easy feeding. Yah got a large skimmer in my sump..... any tips on how to monitor too heavy a bioload / nitrate spike?
  2. Just got back into the hobby after 3 years.... Got a 4 x 2 x 2.5 (feet) tank with: Fish: Miniata Grouper / Dwarf Lion (sigh not eating) / Emperor Angel / Maroon Clown / Longhorn Cowfish / Boxfish / Snowflake Eel Soft Coral: Mushrooms / Sponges / Leather Questions : will Zoos survive? any ideas on what other fish to add? (i'm thinking triggers/ frogfish).... Any thoughts are welcome.
  3. Used to have a marine tank a year ago but it was a standard 4x2x2 and i didn't use a chiller. Now i'm moving house and there is a nice depression in the wall which i wanna convert into a marine tank. Questions: 1) Any recommendations on customising a tank? length is like 3.5 feet so it has to be custom. 2) what do i consider for a sump ? 3) the cabinet (3.5 feet) can be used to house a sump + chiller also?? 4) what are the implications of (3) if i'm going ahead with the chiller inside the cabinet. 5) fauna will be mostly soft coral and lionfish / moray eels - does this mean i can have a weaker chiller? Thanks experts.............
  4. Dont have time to go AM to view the rare fishes ... Does anyone know the price for the Black Widow ? And the Cuban and Spanish Hogs??? Can PM me ??
  5. It only hates newcomers ..... it will attempt to "taste" any new fish in the tank..... So i gorge it on food first ...then add new fishes ... i have like 10 damsels and 4 wrasses ...he ignores them ....

  15. All in the same tank ?? Wow ............ Ever had problems weaning them onto prepared food ? I had the same eel you have in the last pic ...(should be a tiger/enigmatic moray if i'm not wrong). .. Refused to eat anything and wasted away ....(you could whack its head with a prawn-- he'll smell it and then swim away) Btw the Wolf Eel you have (the green one) is a Dottyback, FYI.
  16. 1 Picasso Trigger 1 Undulate Trigger 1 Snowflake Moray 1 Coral Beauty 1 Yellow Tang 1 Six-line wrasse Lotsa Damsels I have a little bit of soft corals in mine ... Equipment - 1 Jebao Canister + 1 Airstone-driven skimmer that's all
  17. Possible to wean onto prepared food ? Say prawn on a stick ?
  18. I do not have a chiller and had one which was doing fine for almost 3months. Till i accidentally turned the filter off once before i went to sleep (drunk) Only casualty. Will get one in the near future.
  19. Is it normal for them to have it ? I know freshwater fish get it when PH drops .... My PH is at 8.2 so i don't think that's the reason.
  20. Achilles Tang ?? Do they recover ? any idea ? My once free-swimming voracious volitans is now a "stone lion" !!! Damn upset.
  21. slightly listless. Hangs in the corner most of the time. (used to roam non-stop) very non-responsive to me when i'm feeding also. But i've still managed to feed it. Almost force-feed matter of fact. Kept sticking a piece of prawn in its face and it ate.
  22. HMMM ...Sounds possible .... Do they recover ?
  23. Have a volitans lionfish (been with me for 6 months). Eats anything ...prawn meat, pellets and even flakes. One day it just suddenly stopped coming to the surface for food. And this has been for days. I'm suspecting he swallowed too much air ? Any insight ?
