Hi I've Seachem additives for use, and have more than 50% for each bottle (use abt 30%). 1.Seachem reef advantage Strontium 2.Seachem reef advantage Calcium 3.Seachem reef buffer. Thanks for sharing. I suppose this is the hallmark of reef husbandry skills. Perhaps more of us should emulate this, and also it goes to show that high-tech equipment shouldn't be the focus of reef keeping. Are there any SRC members currently trying this method of reefkeeping? It does present a problem when fishes are kept in the tank.

Hi, Just to share, I have a black sea hare. It was in my tank for 4 months without any problems. But something attacked it, and it leached purple dye from it's body. I caution you to be careful, as the sea hare can discharge this chemical into your tank when provoked. I do not know if it is poisonnous as it died near the skimmer, and the discharge got skimmed.

Dear All, Am new to this. How does one install an Iceprobe? Say if currently have a 2ft tank + 2ft sump, can I just leave it in the sump? Or must I fit it into the main tank for optimum performance.

Hi all, I've just installed a sump tank. Prior to this I relied on an Ehiem Professional for mechanical filtration. Now, it's not in very good condition. I've got to shake it a couple of time to get it to work. (Anyone had this problem?) That's beside the point. My main enquiry is what type/kind of filter media to place in the sump? I have phosphate problems, nitrate is low. I was thinking of Rowaphos or Salifert Phosphate eliminator. Also, I was thinking of using some ceramic rings, bioballs and Substrat from Ehiem. Any other filter media which I should add? I'm also in the midst of setting up the refugium section of the sump. Eventually, I forsee a small Cheato farm My main tank has SPS in it, so would appreciate any advice for the sump. I've read through some articles, and I receive conflicting advice. Hi, I don't have a sump and skimmer is for a 2ft tank. Looking for a low rated Beckett suitable for 2 ft, not exceeding 200 bucks. Having ideas of installing skimmer beside tank stand, with pipes drawing water from main tank, and back to it. Would it be feasible still to use a Beckett? I should use a higher rated pump in this case as the return flow is working against gravity? Pls advice, Thanks, DREW

A cheaper alternative would be use the liquid type super glue. It reatails at a cheaper price for packs of 2. There's a trick to using liquid type, just a drop will do. Also let it cool for about 5 sec before immersing the frag, since most cynoacrylate superglue bonds in 10secs. The superglue will be less viscious after 5 sec, and when immersed, it 'll be similar to superglue gel. It's hard to describe in detail. PM me if you have queries.

Hi all, Any reefers here using AquaC Remora HOT skimmers? Would like to know what the internal partition looks like. Looking at the possibility of Mod-ing my Prizm skimmer. Perhaps just by finding a way to modify the pump or chainging it to a Maxi-jet. Unless... reefers here want to sell used AquaC Remora. Can't afford a brand new set. Thanks, DREW

It's a Radiating Urchin if I'm not wrong. I've a small specimen in my tank. Quite interesting to look at and it's active throughout the day. I leave one panel of my tank glass uncleaned, for the urchin to graze on.
