  1. About the same with my new Atman.
  2. Hi! I just bought the CS-400CIRV 0.5HP Atman chiller as well. Had a minor incident with damping clamps on the compressor resulting in strong violent vibrations with the chiller. Had it replaced and it is now working silently. Very pleased with its performance, able to chill my 3 footer from 27.3 degrees to 25.0 degrees in 1 hour. I have a question regarding the use of the temp controller. My Atman is running for 15mins, cut for 5 mins and resume again. Thats restarting 3 times every hour, 72 times every day. Does any one have any idea how to program the chiller such that it does not restart so often?
  3. Nope, its blk 114. If you cannot even remember if you did add anything, its most probable that you did added something.
  4. I saw red skimmage with my own eyes at a LFS at AMK ave 4 too! Was very surprised when I saw it so I quried the owner. His explaination was that he dosed medicine to treat his fishes. Did you add anything?
  5. I'm not using macro. Hence no comments.
  6. A bubble counter is neither an airstone nor a device that prevent the water being drawnback to the air pump and it will not decrease the air going to the ventury. A bubble counter is a device used commonly in conjunction with a CO2 cannister to measure the amount of CO2 injected. it looks something like this
  7. There is a very simple solution to removing the noise due to the air tube. Just get a cheap bubble counter and attach it to the tube. The noise due to ###### of air will amazingly disappear.
  8. Shrimps are sensitive to changes in salinity.
  9. Maybe some of us got tired? Things go by in a cycle and pretty often you will see the same things over and over again.
  10. Hi, need a small favour, does anybody hav a pic of biohome to share? Or even the URL of the product would be great!
  11. Me me! I dismantled the casing to fit the chiller into my wooden cabinet meant for electrical stuff, very easy access for cleaning.
  12. I think you should be more concerned with the die-offs of bacteria in your topfilter every time you pull its plug! The die-offs of bacteria in the overhead filter is inevitable and everytime you introduce it back, you are introducing die-offs into your tank. I would recommend either removing it totally or just keep it there.
  13. Excellent! But not as foamy as I hoped.
  14. Normal impeller! I'm waiting for a mod by Octopus Bay.
  15. I have a close friend who has a 0.5hp Hailea chiller. He has to change the motor of his fan at least once a year to get rid of the noise. Lucky the fan motor is not very ex. Those with nosiy chiller may want to consider changing out the fan motor and see if it eliminate the noise.
  16. Wah!!! I like I like!!! If have needle wheel impellers, this Turbo Skimmer will become one of the best skimmer around!
  17. If can best lah! Then Octopus can help us get upgrade kits for our skimmers with needle impellers!
  18. Mine took 3 days to break in too! Just be patient. Maybe you can open up the water outlet more in order to lower the water level in the neck of the skimmer. By the way Octopus, when is the skimmer pump parts arriving? Also, its using the Atman 105 for the large skimmer right? Thanks!
  19. Funny you all brought up the topic of Nurce. I bought it quite a long time ago and its a breeze using it. And yes it is true, no electrical components in use at all! Here is a pic.
  20. Usually in a small to medium tank, the best chance is to introduce a YT and PT of around the same size together. Otherwise its most likely a fight to the death
  21. Just to share, I had an electric leak from an unusual source, it is my temp probe for my chiller's ext temp controller. I had to go find a replacement probe (AC) to fix the leak. Caught me really dumbfolded when I discovered the source of leak!
  22. I have a Tunze 220 selling for $200. Interested? Tunze Skimmer Post
  23. Great! How much is it? Can let me know or PM me?
