Just changed my 2 X 54W (4ft) T5 supplement tubes. About 6 months old and still in good conditions (No rust at the edge.)
Still good for LPS or fowlr. PM me if u r keen.

Agree with Bro Tofu's comments.
If you get it in the colony you brought, it is a bonus. Try removing them before you dip and place them back later.
Note that some acro crab only host on certain sps. So you might end up buying one which won't host in your current sps.

Hanging it higher will reduce the further reduction the light penetration to the bottom of the tank.
If you keeping LPS should be fine but no clam on the sand bed thou.
You can add T5 to supplement the side as you mentioned -
I have this on my 4 footer Fowlr tank. You don't get much light about 6" from each end of the tank. About 3ft coverage.
Using 120 deg lens will not help much IMO. It will also reduce the penetration of the light as well.Just my 2cts.

Giving away this wrasse as it had become a bully to my smaller fishes.
The fish had grown in size and coloration as well.
You can see the red lining on the tail and dorsal fin.
At least 4" or so.
So far never attacked my shrimp thou.
Belong to the halichoeres wrasse familiy.
The last pic with net is taken when I first bought it last year Feb.
Priority to those whom I know first.
For tank with sand please. Recommended for tank size 4ft and above.
