I'm currently using Philips Ecotone Genie (Cool daylight) tubes. Is anyone else using them? ANother option is Osram tubes, but they don't seem to have cool daylight, just regular daylight.

Is this the frozen type? If so, I'm interested.

Okay.. more progress photos. 3/4 of the yellow zoos have died. They just closed up and started melting away day by day. The other zoos appear to be doing well and spreading. The goniopora is opening up everyday too. I got a new ball of metallic zoanthids. It's in the upper left area. I also shifted the goniopora higher up near the light, but the flow there is also strongest. I don't think it really likes bring there since the polyps aren't extending as much as when I placed it below.

Everyone seems to be able to find cheap sun coral frags except me. Everywhere I go they're no less than $25.

I have a tiny tank with lots of brown stuff - 4 types of brown zoos, brown-purple goniopora, brown live rock, brown worms... you get the idea. I was wondering if anyone could recommend any non-brown zoos or corals for a newbie, that are tiny in size (ie. can fit on 5 cm frags or smaller). Basically, my water conditions are quite good and I do a 30% water change every 3 days. Only phosphates are detectable. What can I fit in here?

Most places I go to have only common brown zoanthids. I've seen photos of some very nice color morphs - blue, green, pink, etc. Where do you all find these? So far my tank has 4 different kinds of zoanthids, all shades of brown. Kind of boring.

Really? Today I saw normal sun coral and the seller said it was $30.. It was about a 5 cm globe. Where do you normally get the normal sun corals from?

I'd like to try out this non photosynthetic coral, but at $30 a head it's a bit of an expensive lesson if it dies. Does anyone have any tiny frags that they could spare? They don't have to be huge... maybe 2 or 3 polyps in a frag will do.

I have those too! My guess is some kind of hydroid. They're white and spread quite fast.

Besides superglue, what other adhesives for rocks are safe to use in seawater? I've seen some shops hold rockwork together with something that looks like blutack. What is that?

Something is wrong with my tank. I change 20% of the water every 2 days. The crabs, brown zoos, and goniopora all appear to be doing well. They open everyday. But the yellow zoos are shrivelling up. After a few days in my tank they just closed up and never opened again. And all the while they're getting smaller and they lose adhesion on the rock. Some even dropped off and died. Any suggestions? BTW the reddish coral has opened up. Any idea what coral it is?

Does the brand matter anyway? I've seen Instant Ocean and Reef Crystals in the shop and they're quite cheap. Thought of getting some boxes.

How much do tiny 0.5 cm turbo snails cost? Mine (from live rock) are rapidly becoming too big and I will need to get smaller ones soon.
