  1. yup, i know what u mean.. even my pigs (foxface, blue tang and PT) will whack them.. sigh...
  2. tigershark, yes, seletar do sell softies.. but u need to find out when the shipment is.. the last time i went down, on friday or thursday, hardly any corals left.. to get there, take 86 from ang mo kio, alight at the halfway house (gracehaven i think) and walked towards your right (facing the halfway house) after alighting, see the road sign; seletar farmway 1; turn in.. and walk all the way.. u should pass a junction with a building with a seahorse logo.. continue the journey till u see a signboard saying: marine fishes and corals, on your left.. the place should be 95 seletar farmway 1
  3. yah.. king angel... the inhabitants in your tanks do have the potential to become big... and they are quite a few of them... also, the deaths could have been due to the increase in bio-load that causes some spike in NH3, No2 and NO3...and the fish might not be able to take it.. or has it been bullied?? was the water quality suitable for the fish? those could be the main reason why the fish did not survive even the first day inside your tank.
  4. hahah... brandon, u asking them to try eating brine shrimps?? LOL anyway.. yes.. u can try getting them from petmart and do get a carton at a go.. coz like mentioned, it is cheaper... comments have been seen for other brands when hikari was out of stock.. thus, i rather go for hikari.. having been using them for yrs.. no regrets..
  5. AT, those LR fresh from the sea.. is it safe? if i do that, i will cure it first by quarantine it first.. dun want to pollute my tank with the pollutants and unwanted creatures from the sea...
  6. hahaha.. knew that will come from u, AT.. knowing that u are such a tang lover... hahaha.. anyway.. how come u not getting flame angel? ok, i know it pecks on corals at times.. but there are also some that dun do that.. guess it is not worth the risk huh...
  7. hmm... with that, dun need a marine tank already.. your monitor is the tank.. no maintenance, no feeding, no worries of this parameter etc.. hahaha...
  8. i have one snowflake too.. how big is your tank?? mine is 4ft with the snowflake ard 8-10" long..
  9. hawkfish will definitely eat your shrimps one way or another.. my 2 spotted hawks whacked all my cleaner and camel shrimps.. sigh...
  10. synthetic corals.. hehehe.. no feeding and a 6500K FL tube will do too... but as they are fake, u can get them in different colors too.. i recalled someone asked me where to get them.... but i just think that they lose out to the real thing..
  11. my friend imported a golden retriever from australia.. was quarantined for 1 week or month i think.. before he went to collect it..
  12. flushed them down the toilet?? no joke???? i'm sure there are ppl who are willing to accept them.. i feel heartache for the fishes....
  13. daryll, better check with the authorities first.. u dun want to risk taking the trouble of bagging it and transporting the clam back, only to find it being confiscated by the customs.
  14. to reduce the impact, perhaps can have something in front of the outflow to reduce the impact?
  15. just tell them that u are fishing.. but no luck.. only got rocks the whole day..hahaha
  16. when they are establised in one area.. u seldom gonna see them swimming ard the tank
  17. when using protein skimmers on tanks, no matter what size it may be, the gadget will skimmed out all the protein regardless good or bad.. thus, u need to dose supplements.. to replace those that are lost...
  18. u dun really need a coral or LR to let it perch on... it will seek out the best place to rest and get a bird eyes view of the surroundings... may i know how much u guys pay for it.. i was quote many times ard $15-18 each
  19. yeah.. i know how u feel towards ppl who borrowed but either return the books in another state that i dun recognise or act blur after borrowing it.. i lost quite a few books in that way and could not find the replacement.. sigh..
  20. i know what u mean.. the prices of LR had gone up.. used to pay like $3/kg abt 6 yrs ago.. now.. $5/kg also dun have already and that is considered cheap.. sigh.. me really not keen is paying tons of money on rocks.. dun make much economical sense to me..hahahaha
  21. well.. anemone do not really need a clownfish to survive or vice versa.. u might consider other corals.. i have seen clown residing in finger corals as well...
  22. i recall someone in the forum went all the way out to collect SW for his tank.. perhaps we can ask him to do that.. hehehe.. but me kinda worried abt do that.. coz of the pollutants in our waters... but it is indeed a good idea..
  23. i would like to go too, if your car still can accommodate 1 person.
