how to take pics when it is all set up?? nevertheless, i explain it.. just try to picture it. i purchase all the squarish or rectangular plastic containers with holes on it, then depending on the height that i want, i stack them up and use LR to weigh them down. then i use cable ties to secure them together and that will save me tons of money just buying LR.

couldn't agree more.. anyway, this is the first time i heard that ppl use shrimps to cycle the tank... the jelly fish tanks that i saw in melbourne aquarium are circular tanks and they feed them with freshly hatched Brine shrimps and i do not see any filter except small holes where water flow back into the backdrop or wall and seeing them (jelly fishes) going in circles due to the water gushing out above... no LR or anything that sort.. Agreed with AT, they should be left in the ocean or sea than in our tanks. i seriously doubt that we are able to provide the kind of food and environment that they required.

i use those 1.99 plastic containers to stack my LR and form the base of my reef structure

yeah.. what is the dimensions of the tank?? me planning a divider tank as well.. can use this as reference..

for hardware, u need to following 1.hydrometer 2. Live Rocks 3. Test kits eg; NH3, NO2, No3 for lights, u need to get at least those with 9500k and above.. since u are not keeping corals, IMO, u can do away with MH or mercury vapour lamps.

or the fastest way is to use AT pending patent, ammonia doggie... hehehehe

wolfie, go for your medical checkup first. anyway, just to let u know, my friends who had sign up for airforce senior tech or some officer role, most left after their term is up.. coz of the way things are being handled high handedly. am i glad i got "chopped" off the course and send back to OCS to be trained in infantry.. anyway, u have to know what u want.. and like what they say, go to BMT first then decide...

hi fellas, for those who are interested in keeping seahorses.. there is this seahorse world in tasmania that u must go... need to find the namecard and website first..... was there to see how they keep them alive.. and their successful breeding and raising the frys of 95% is something commendable... such is the dedication.. just found out that a brood of seahorses frys can range from 250-450 frys.. but there is one record there which held at 1000+ from a mated pair if i can recall correctly... the website is www.seahorseworld.com.au hurray to conservation... a salute to these fellas...

Bran, tanzy's lion is only mean for large.. and i mean huge acres of land or tank to house it.. and it dun feed on feeder but the breeder and other moving objects.. therefore, approach with care.. this species is more dangerous than the blue ring.. coz it can grow up to 1.2m in height.. if i recall correctly..

sigh.. tourist trap.. it was one of the highlights that i had wanted to visit man.. sigh..

i was so sad at the stage of the tanks.. that i end up only taking a fish pics.. and mostly on seahorses and weedy sea dragons.. which the tanks are in a better shape than others... let me give u an example.. if AT tank is there, ppl would believe that his is the Great Barrier Reef... or even some of us... coz i see cynobacteria there.. and some tanks have dino-bacteria.. so.. u can imagine.. sigh.. but i did take some brine shrimps pics.. hahaha.. i would say, u want to see good public tanks.. go to underwater world.. there is too much hype for sydney aquarium.. sigh.. what a pity..

AT, that is the largest species of lionfish family.. and i saw one that is over a foot in sydney aquarium.. from what i know.. lionfishes can keep together.. and different species as well.. they can co-exist.. but i dun know what the article from the reefkeeping says coz i have yet to read it.. bran, that is a real beauty.. in fact to me, that is the second more beautiful lionfish after the Fumanchu lion while volantile is more graceful when swiming... but IMO, antenna is also the most delicate of all... i have tried keeping both AT and your species.. and seems that antenna lion require higher water parameters... AT, i dun really recommend feeding them with baby catfishes.. coz of the spines of the catfishes.. can injure your lionfish.. ok.. i wun recommend u baby clowns... but it is definitely cheaper than cleaners..

sigh.. i was there this afternoon.. boy, was i disappointed with the way the Great Barrier Reef display section.. sigh.. i think we can do better.. but then, they are doing a great job in the weedy sea dragon and sea horses that breeds in captivity... therefore, if u are here next time, u can give it a miss.. but i do like the width of the tank for the great barrier reef display.. easily abt 3-5 ft wide... and it is curved....

AT, tanzy is trying to reach the enlightenment stage of sea turtle.. hahaha
