  1. For DIY overflow, not the full waterflow from pipe diameter is achieved. At best slightly more than half the diameter of pipe, definitely not fully, unless you increase the pipe size for the last section before it flow to your sump. My all thru 25mm DIY overflow cannot take the full pump capacity of an ehiem 1260.

  2. Alternatively, run a 2 outlet output from your return pump, one straight to tank and another return to sump. Install a valve for the latter and adjust accordingly until smooth flow is achieved from overflow pipe, with some allowance. No need to change pump. The other output can also link to any reactors you might have.

  3. I have no luck buying damsels from them. I bought 5 from them in the past month, 4 died for no reason. :( In the same time period bought 5 from other sources, all turned out to be healthy. Ironically I bought tang from them in the same time period, which is considered to be sensitive, it lives.

I bought one from Ah Beng last week. Doing ok with the other damsels in my 4'.

Based on my personal experiences, I have hit and misses with livestocks from the 3 saltwater farms/shops in Pasir Ris. Have not purechase anything from Pinnacle yet. My rule of thumb is to observed and purchase those which are feeding or nibbling in the holding/display tanks.

  4. Many cleaner shrimps and fire shrimps in Ah Beng,Ng couple and Iwarna.

Ah beng; a number of flame angels, medium and large blue powder tangs, blue tangs, yellow tangs, brown tangs, singapore angels, couple of clown tangs. One or two each of key hole angel, nox angel, bicolor angel.

Ng couple; not much livestocks, 8-10 pcs in blue eye cardinals, some blue tangs and blue eye anthias, 2 powder blue tangs, 1 female spotbreast angel.

  5. I'm using only DI resin wrapped up and running a pump to push water thru. ~150ml can yield at least 60L of water at 0ppm, i.e. 3 times using the 20kg salt mix bucket filled to 2cm below rim.
