  9. tanzy's method is practical. during refill, i did not do it at one go. reason: - better maintain temp fluctuation - not to stress some of the livestock - not to stir up sand / debris

  16. you did not tell us whether you are having an open top or canopy. for open top, temp will go down. canopy will trap the warm air inside thus temp will not reduce.
  17. just let you know that tempered glass are used on scanner, laser printer and copier. pm me if you need help.
  18. 1. Remove the trap. 2. Off all your pumps 3. On the same spot, dig the sand to make a small 'well', say of 1 ft diameter. 4. drain water to container(s) big enough to contain your volume 5. as water gets lesser in tank, the damsel will swim to the 'well' 6. net the naughty fellow 7. pump back those container water to your tank Hope this help.
  19. Moderate current should be ideal. The tubeworm works similarly to our feather duster. We use feather duster to sweep away tiny dust particles whereas the tentacles of the worm await the fine particles (e.g. phytoplankton) to brush through it. These tantacles are slimmy. Thus when the fine particles are caught, it withdraws all tentacles into its trunk to 'consume'. If enough fine particles are consumed over time, it grows proportionally in size. In contrary, due to deficiency of food, it either remains in size or shrink in size as compared with the day when you first owned it. Under such condition, very often, the crown will shed off from its trunk and a new one will evolve weeks after. This shed-and-evolve scenes may repeat two or three times before it totally die off due to starvation. Hope this information is beneficial to you.
  20. I do not know how you did it, it could be a laborous task for you then. I followed a case in arofanatics forum with interest. He left the worm outside its tube (to die off). After a week or so, a new worm grew again. I have interest with your attempt. Please continue to provide updates of its condition after what you have done since. BTW, my tubeworm had been with me for 6 months, yet to have this problem. All the best!
  21. I got mine from Sim Lim Tower, #B1-47 for $19. Brand of fan - SUNON, come with power cod. It is lighter than the normal one. And it is quieter, at least for now.
  22. patience, spicyball. mine took about 2 weeks.
  23. Coolwater, your tank look so new with new LR. If you tank is not cycled, you might kill this beauty.
