  1. Since yr Regal already 4.5 inches, yr next angel addition got to be at least 5 inches to reduce aggression. with such sizes, yr stock level will be limited, so need to plan what fishes u want.
  2. My sps dominated tank temperature is set between 26.5-28.
  3. U can try plate coral for low light condition.
  4. IMO, Scribble angel is the least aggressive angel but they usuakky come in large size which may affect the smaller angel u decided to put in. always go for the smaller ones and slowly increase in size (size matter)
  5. If u plan to have an angel tank do consider to introduce from the least aggressive type/smaller size to larger/more aggressive. Regal and majestic are eg of least aggressive and secretive angel.
  6. Have a grey belly regal angel in my reef tank for nearly 3yrs. Fed with Ocean Nutrition 1n 2. Regal is very sensitive to water condition so keep water perimeter stable. Having a eating regal is half battle won so keep up.
  7. Append below are the equipment needed for a marine tank For 522 Fowler: One size bigger skimmer than the tank capacity. U can use your existing light or get decent T5 or Led light set and don use red led light as this will promote agae growth. Return pump at preferred 4500litre/hr or more. For 522 reef tank (Probably LPS) Skimmer as above 6/8x54W T5 or 6/8X80W T5 or 2 set of LED Chiller (0.5HP) preferred otherwise fans are needed to cool water will result in high water evaporate rate. Dosing pump/Calcium reactor c/w CO2 Phos reactor (optional depending on bio load) DI unit for pure distill water to mix salt with no added nutrient(optional) Return pump at 4500 litre/hr or more. Wave maker probably needed due to the 5 feet length to create flow. Hope could help.
  8. Placing above the tank will make your room hot when compressor kick in and serving difficult. Is best to installed at where you can dry your cloth to make use of the hot air so that you can save electric bill on your dryer. My cloth dried on daily basis without the use of Dryer and make my wife happy.
  9. My ATI powermodule uses the following combination Blue+ Blue speical Blue+ Coral + Blue+ Actinic Blue special Blue+
  10. My 422 uses 8 Ati powermodule. 4xblue+,1xpurple+,2xcoral+ n 1xblue special. U could consider 3blue +, 2coral + n 1 purple.
  11. IMO, 6 bulbs would be better cos more color combination to bring out the colour of coral.
  12. 4X2X2 SPS dominated tank at 1 bubble/sec lasted 6 mths for 5kg CO2 cyclinder.
  13. It best to determine the KH value, eg 9dkh. Test kh every 24 hr to determine the consumption n add sodium bicarbonate by trial n error to maintain. Check every alternate day n make necessary adjustment. Take note that if u add more sps, check the kh n cal consumption again.
  14. If u having high PO4 & NO3, u probably having high nutrient water. PO4 could be leeching out from your rocks. Your NO3 could b coming from your sump such as bioball/substrate. To effectively reduce, try 50-70% of water change and repeat after one week if necessary after water test. To use NSW or saltmix depend on the whether the reading of PO4 & NO3 are high. If very high choose a cheaper method and follow by the saltmix with DI water a week later.
  15. 1. Prepare 50% of new saltmix in pails. 2. Wait for new tank to arrive n test for leak 3. Transfer 50% of existing water to pail/container including livestock (never do first in case delivery delay). 4. Fill the new tank with 1/2 new n 1/2 existing water. 5. Transfer livestock and rock. 6. Top up with the remaining 50% new n old water. I hv done twice from 3X2.5X2.5 to 3X2.5X2 n finally 422 with no loses.
  16. Buy a 422 new tank if u can cos used tank may hv silicone issue leading to leak n chiller would be better to get 1/2 hp.
  17. U can get from 3rd floor next to the escalator.
  18. Forget your questions, IMO, major water change should not b bad as it allows the chemical properties equilibrium to be brought back closer to natural seawater which we may stew up due to dosing/CR.
  19. My 450 litres SPS dominated used to do 80-120 litres water change on monthly basis with no ill effect as long as the KH component is observe. I have done 50% water change during tank overhaul, meaning removing all livestocks, rocks and substrate within a day with no casualty 4 years back but then only a handful of SPS.
  20. Hey, my children city lego collections and still got 2 modular Boxes unopened cos no space to house.
  21. How to frag the blue stag when the diameter is as thick as 25mm. Moreover the span of the said stag is 300 x 250mm and anchored into a small slot in the rock. My rockscape is mainly made up of multiple small rocks and any pressure induced from tool will cause the rocks to collapse.
  22. All sps from mother colony have been established in my tank more than 2 years and photos taken by i-phone on T5 lighting with 4 white and 4 blue. Interested party, please sms at 91087233 (Lee) and collection place will be at Bukit Panjang. All frags based on first come first basis. Walt Smith blunt bright pink growth too closed to blue stag, so got to frag (1-1.5 inch with few branch ) at $20 each Pointed birdnest for a 1 inch -1.5 inch frag at $15 Big frag of green milli at $30 (only 1 frag to free space for red milli ) Neon green blunt birdnest at $20 each for a 1-1.5 inch frag with few branch

  24. Thank you, basically low bio-load equipped with over size skimmer and calcium reactor. 10 ATI T5 power module lighting and cheato refrigium in sump. KH=8-9Dkh, PH=8-8.3 and never measure Ca. Tank 4X2X2 feet.
  25. SPS triming time so got a few deep purple digi frag of approximately 1.5 -2" for $20 each. Interest party please sms at 91087233 at collection place Bukit Panjang.
