Balancing my reef chemistry

Recommended Posts

Hi,

My tank is about 1.5 months old, and this is what I have been tracking:

Temp: 26.3C

Salinity: 1.023

PO4: 0.16 ppm

NO3: 0 ppm

CA: 350 ppm

MG: 1400 ppm

Alk: 7 dkh

I have a few LPS (hammer, favia, open brain) in the tank, and I'd like to know if these parameters are alright for them?

I currently have quite a bit of green hair algae even with only 2 hrs of normal light. I have blue LED lights on for another 11 hrs. Perhaps I've been too enthusiastic with the lighting period or feeding...

I also have a new calcium reactor sitting in my storeroom. I'm not sure when I should start using it.

As a first timer, I'd appreciate any advice offered :) Thanks in advance!

Your CA is quite low. Range should be 420 -450. Get reef salt for ur premix and WC twice weekly...it's cheaper than purchasing and dosing additives
