  1. I checked with DE, they don't do customised single tube fixtures :-(
  2. Hi there, Any reefers out there able to point me to a shop I can buy a single tube T5 fixture? The minimum I've seen seems to be 2x. Thanks! Cheers, QiCheng
  3. Anyone have a few spare amoxicillin capsules for me to try?
  4. Do you have to hold on to the magnifying glass? Or is it magnetically stuck to the tank?
  5. They don't seem to ship internationally, based on their website. Anyone interested in a group buy for Portal through vPost?
  6. Hi there! I'm trying to avoid pressing my nose against the tank glass just to get a closer look into the tank... Has anyone tried out something like Portal (http://www.ivsportal.com/) before? How do you all find a way to zoom into the tank? I think I've seen D-D's nano-scope being sold in some LFSs, but it's quite a small viewport? Cheers, QC
  7. Thanks! Will try to swap the regulator then... It just went from 50 psi on the gauge to 15 in one day :-/
  8. Thanks for the quick feedback! I've tried as you suggested but there was no bubbling anywhere when I switched on the solenoid. Will try again... I've tried swapping to a new CO2 tank and changed the O ring on the regulator, and it's still like that. Perhaps it's a faulty solenoid unit then?
  9. Hi everyone, Really need some help here from everyone out there... My calcium reactor's CO2 tank will condense with water on the outside - it gets so bad that a large pool of water collects at the bottom of the tank on the cabinet floor. The condensation happens on the sides of the tank, near the top and the regulator/solenoid area (basically the whole thing). I'm clueless about how to solve this issue - Internet searches don't bring up any similar cases or solutions. Anyone with suggestions? Cheers, QC
  10. Hi there! Anyone know if any LFS brings in the Pyramid butterflies (Hemitaurichthys polylepis)? Cheers, QC
  11. Thanks for the info! Is there a specific name for this species? It's slightly different from the normal plate ones...
  12. Oops didn't realize there were replies... Ah-lim: Yes! I realized it wasn't my skimmer, but my Eheim 1262... Have replaced it with a Tesino GP232
  13. Hi, My tank is about 1.5 months old, and this is what I have been tracking: Temp: 26.3C Salinity: 1.023 PO4: 0.16 ppm NO3: 0 ppm CA: 350 ppm MG: 1400 ppm Alk: 7 dkh I have a few LPS (hammer, favia, open brain) in the tank, and I'd like to know if these parameters are alright for them? I currently have quite a bit of green hair algae even with only 2 hrs of normal light. I have blue LED lights on for another 11 hrs. Perhaps I've been too enthusiastic with the lighting period or feeding... I also have a new calcium reactor sitting in my storeroom. I'm not sure when I should start using it. As a first timer, I'd appreciate any advice offered Thanks in advance!
  14. My new tank is cycling and starting to get pods, diatoms & green hairlike algae. Where's a good place to get some clean up crew like snails? Much appreciated!
  15. Yup, even brought it back to ReefDepot to check. Everything seems normal about the skimmer. I think it's because it is vibrating and resonating through the sump's glass. I've the same issue with my Eheim 1262 pump too...
  16. Thanks Iskay & Cool guy! Will move on to locally propagated corals soon
  17. Hi everyone! I just setup my new tank with a Deltec SC2060, and I'm wondering if the noise due to the vibration from the pump/air bubbles/etc can be reduced further... I can still hear it when I close my cabinet. Hope for some advice, thanks so much! Cheers, QC
  18. Hi everyone, I've just setup my first marine tank (3' x 2.5' x 20") and it's been cycling for about a month now. Thought I should start looking for living things to put in it I'd like to stock some captive bred fish first (in the spirit of sustainability), would anyone know who/where I can get them from? Cheers, QC
  19. Cool scape! Where did you buy those rocks from? Mine's starting up in 1 month's time, so I'm looking around now...
  20. Thanks! Haven't encountered the concept of an underflow before - will Google for it. I assume it helps suck in free-floating dirt in the water column? Perhaps I will consider a Herbie or a BeanAnimal on the side of the tank then...
  21. Hi everyone, I've been researching for my first reef tank for almost 6 months now... The posts here have been most helpful and enjoyable to read Haven't seen a discussion on the BeanAnimal overflow system though. Does anybody have experience with this type of overflow system? Would like to get some local advice of BeanAnimal versus Herbie overflow or standard Durso standpipes. Thanks in advance!
