Sotong Ball
IMO, the QT tank needs to be washable, water total drain dry and sterilization if fish died in QT. I used to have complicated QT tank but in the end, a simple plastic tank with air pump and bio balls work best for me.

dnsfpl
tEc' timestamp='1357568033' post='1083667'] depending on the size of the fish, u can buy those plastic toyo container. with a HOB, some filter media, your QT is ready for operation. after QT, can use the container to store your marine stuff. 2 in 1. when the need come 1 day, can use back. in reefing, there's is never the word full. if tank is full, u will find the ugliest fish to sell and add the fish u want. manage to endure a year without adding new fish, partly due to my AT

SRC Member kaykay Posted January 11, 2013 Author SRC Member Share Posted January 11, 2013 Sadly, my first tank inhabitant, the tailspot blenny, passed away peacefully this morning. Without a white spot on its body, I thought it can pull through. However, symptoms are there.. It wasn't feeding for more than a week. The one fishes feeding are the pair of clowns and the blue chromis. The blue tang and the firefish are also not feeding, and I'm fearing the worst for them.. sigh... pitto
all e best bro. Hope u overcome this quickly. seen quite a few velvet disease threads nowadays and realize that it is often mistaken as marine ich. can anyone share how do you distinguish between marine ich and velvet visually? any distinct features? Pic comparison would be good.
