Overflow 'gate'

Do not know what's the common term for that piece of 'plastic/ceramic' over the area where the overflow water drops off. It basically functions as a 'gate' to prevent fishes from tumbling over the 'waterfall'. What is the best DIY for it ? Appreciate if you can share yr experience.

I have seen people using egg crate and adhere to the glass wif silicon

i thk tat's the best alternatives and the ONLY alternatives DIY i can think of

Can use those PVC trunking for running cables (hardware shops got sell)...

cut out the "teethed" sides and silicon them to the overflow

Use an old comb.. Turn it upside down and superglue it!

I am using egg crates DIYed as per the quick sketch, using cable tie to hold it together. Just slot the whole thing into the overflow.

Thanks guys,

Have used back my LH day's perplex partition and cut a strip. Then using 2 suction holders, I place this piece across the 'waterfall' allowing only a few mm gap. Hope it works.
