Questions on KH

My tank parameters,

Taken 3rd March,

Ammonia 0

KH 8.6

Mg 1200

Calcium 400

PO4 0.03

Ph 8.2

KH 6.1 (Tested 3 times w Salifert)

Mg 1140

Calcium 420

Ph 8.2

Realised KH dropped significantly, however, SPS, LPS all doing great.

Any idea why this is happenening? PH is stable..

If u got more sps then normal normally KH consume is around 2 per day unless you using CA or dosing pump to maintain. SPS is very sensitive to KH. Low KH can cause STN and high KH can cause sps to bleach.

Would suggest bringing up your mg first then do another test of ur ca and kh bro

Your SPS is growing and consuming carbonate from the water. Try to measure everyday and calculate the difference then dose to maintain the level for more stable water param. As the SPS grows, it will consumes even more elements. So if your water volume is small, it is advisable to measure the params every 2-3 days to make sure that the parameters are stable.
