Styrofoam board below your tank

very important. with the styrofoam, not much presuure one put onto the base glass.. Imagine having a grain of sand in between your tank and the plywood. it would put tremendous pressure on the glass and cause it to crack. Pressure = force divided by area. Such a huge force over such a small area = Great pressure. Even after you make sure that there is nothing in between, you cannot possibly get rid of minute particles invisible to the ###### eye. these particles will again exert great pressure on the base of the tank... better to use... dun risk it..
