Plastic film on tank

No eh. Don't feel so.. It will like melt when u take it up.. I have washed the tank previously and run on fresh water 2 days before removing and start the salt water cycle.. Fresh water no such issue..

lol bro Andtsg, tats quite a wild guess. I think maybe got to do with the sand. You can try to slowly skim manually those sheets away from the surface but does it keep on reproducing? Does it look it oil substance?

Ooh. Ya maybe the sand cos it's new.. Ya slowly try and remove.. I dunno if it's reproducing.. Tonight will try to remove them..

Yes doesn't look like oil or oily.. At first I tot it's a plastic sheet tt drop into the tank.. But realise there are a lot coming from the sides..

I like to cycle with my tank lights on, helps to encourage nuisance algae growth, so i can deal with it there and than, and not wait until u have corals. U can than treat these algae with chemicals or like raising magnesium and such. Your first set of clean up crew will also help to deal with this problem at the early stages. I have no idea if lights will actually speed up the cycling of tanks.

Its personal preference, theres no hard and fast rule. both works fine.

Diatoms will appear around day 8 - 10 of the cycle depending on ur system. It usually indicates the end of the nitrogen cycle. So it all depends on how much crap there is.

I would recommand running some activated carbon when ur reaching the end of the cycle.
