Messy star polyp

Why is my star polyp aooo messy. Looks like alot dirt and shit. I use a mini baby medic ne feeder to pump some water to blow off the dirt.. Is it ok? Sorry i quite new.

seems like you have some cyanobacteria problem. and also, maybe your tank's flow is not sufficient.

Is tat a worm at the background rock?

Can dip the coral with tap water for few sec? I do that with my sps seem never die and cyano gone.

You mean the purple worm on the top right? It looks like a worm but a fossiled worm. I think the worm died there million years ago hence it has this shape. Its a hard rock looks like worm.
