SRC Member tuajia Posted July 18, 2015 SRC Member Share Posted July 18, 2015 Hi all, hoping for some help. I happened to pass by a certain famous freshwater LFS and to my surprise (and a bit of horror), I saw this moray eel for sale (sorry for the bad photo) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fimbriated_moray According to my experience and research, this moray should not be capable of living in freshwater in the long run. So i quickly bought it and am currently acclimatizing it via overnight drip method to my brackish moray tank. I have done several times before for all my brackish morays (i have both gymnothorax polyuranodon and gymnothorax tile). Hopefully he survives the night! I now have 2 options. Either I 1.) let it live in my brackish tank and hope he can tahan, as I read that they do live in brackish from time to time(SG 1.008) or 2.) Acclimatize it back to marine and put into my FOWLR Any bros have experience acclimatizing a fish back to marine?? I have no idea how long it takes and I don't want to rush in case I end up killing the poor guy. Appreciate the advice, thanks!
SRC Member illumnae Posted July 19, 2015 SRC Member Share Posted July 19, 2015 You can acclimate upwards no more than 0.01 to 0.02 salinity daily till it reaches desired salinity
