SRC Member badsector Posted July 22, 2015 SRC Member Share Posted July 22, 2015 Going to be away for 10 days soon. Any idea whether fish could survive without food that long? My tank has no pods for them. I prefer not to use a autofeeder because i only have 3 fishes. autofeeder dispense too much at a time causing algae problem. SRC Member cutebarra77 Posted July 22, 2015 SRC Member Share Posted July 22, 2015 I used scotchtape to make the auto feeder box hole smaller to limit the output. Just trial and error to the amount of output dispensed to your desirable level. Sent from my HM NOTE 1LTE using Tapatalk
acidjc
no problem.... fish can survive 10day without food.. but.... if there are bigger fishes in there, once they get hungry, they might attack the smaller one as they get aggressive.. so now before u go away, try not to feed them every day.. maybe every 2-3 day once.. then when u away, they will be kind of get use to it.. SRC Member RayL Posted July 22, 2015 SRC Member Share Posted July 22, 2015 U can also use rubberband to make the food dispense hole smaller too. 10 days is abit too long imo. 1 week still ok
SRC Member kenyee Posted July 22, 2015 SRC Member Share Posted July 22, 2015 Subjective..what fish & size n how mature the tank (peck algae?)?.. I would suggest to get autofeeder set at minimum feed (if really scare overfeed) once a day..I will prefer my fish stomach to b convex than concave, look better n healthier too..cheers Quote @ 291213 Updated video: Kenyee FOWLR http://m.youtube.com/my_videos

If you can only can't control the volume of feed each time ,maybe you can adjust from two feeding to one ect.. SRC Member edmund_23 Posted August 4, 2015 SRC Member Share Posted August 4, 2015 Mine i use a tape to fix it between zero and 1.. Then try and error on a pc of paper. Mine have 6fishes.. But i have a blue tank which is like a vacumm cleaner.. How much u drop it will also finish it up.. Understand ur main concern is algae.. No choice.. It either u do frequent wc when u come back or risk the health of ur fishes.. I would chose option 1 as these are all living things. If u dun have foods for 10days, can u survive?
