live rock growth

hi, saw some funky brown flakes growing on the liverocks. any idea wat they are?

Where? Can't see unless you mean those in the foreground. Need better focus. Looks like brown coralline maybe.

It's either cyanobacteria or dinoflagellate. Can you descrive the texture? Is it slimy or stringy? Does it collect air bubbles?

looks like flakes thats stuck to the rocks.. deep brown with lighter brown rings circumfereence. no bubbles or slimy. think its... dry?

Oh, forgot that they are flakes, if that's the case then it's just brown coralline.

found this somewhere in the net. they call it brown plate coralline algae. looks kind of like wat im having

erm... what about those green hairy thing that grow out from the LR ? are those algae ? can i remove them ? :heh:
