Update :

lost my luminous green elegance ... :(

I tink the culprit is the new emperor juv angel, saw it pecking on my red/green brain, killing it...:angry::angry:

Been trying to catch it for 2 days liao... anyone got any tip? i cant use a beta box to catch as the fella keeps hiding within my rocks!!!!!

Leave the beta box in the tank.

Starve the fish for 1 - 2 days before dropping some food into the beta box.

Thought of dat, but i'm afraid that if i starve the fish, it might eat more corals!!!! :(

So instead of using food, I'm using a mirror, hopefully the Emperor hates its own looks!

Pic of my fish trap!!!! Wish me luck!!!

CAUGHT!!!!! FINALLY..... :lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

After 2 days of patience waiting, finally caught this !@#$%^ Emperor... he has been exiled from my main tank for causing grevious hurt to my red/green brain coral ( now slightly recovering, presumed dead initially )...

He will be charged formally in my sump tank and after recieving 40 strokes of the cane, he will be exiled permanently.... All future introductions of Emperor Juveniles will also be subjected to extreme scrutiny/caution....

Now, the celebration begins as my tank reverts to its peaceful days.... :yeah::yeah::yeah:

Did a No3 test today... was shocked to realise that my no3 is pretty high! maybe about 50ppm... tink I've been too overconfident as I always had low no3 and didn't bother to measure much lately.... :( No wonder my SPS not doing well... :(

Update> Course of action for high nitrates... <_<

1> 30% water change using DI water

2> Use AZ-No3

3> Turn Ozone full blast at 50mg/hr

4> Reduce feeding of phyto

5> Reduce feeding of fishes

6> Tune skimmer to skim wet skimmate rather than dry skimmate

Hopefully these measures will help... After 2 days, the nitrate dropped abit, cant really tell the reading from the pink colour liquid on my salifert testkit, but can see that the pink not so dark anymore... Hopefully will improve over the next few days....

Other measures that I may use :

1> Change 30% water again

2> Use of distilled water for top-up ( back to NTUC again ) :(

Anyone can advise if these 2 measures will work??

TARGET : 5-15PPM...!!
