Do I really need a chiller? Or chiller is for when I have live corals?

It depends what you want to keep and if your tank is able to maintain at below 30 degree which is what a Marine Tank aim for.

You can start you tank first and see what is the average tank temperature and then decide accordingly, or start with using fan .

If you want trouble free and good chiller, go for Teco TK500 or Artica chiller. The Hailei brand is okay to use, but I think they do not have titanium exchange coil which is really useful for salty marine tank.
Look out for bro in the forum, see quite many selling used chiller and can be more cost effective if the condition is good.

Hi welcome to the reefing club.

Firstly , i think you need to plan your budget you willing to spend for starting up this hobby.

Then next step you can look for the tank that suit your budget.

As bigger the tank , the higher the amount you need to spend. etc equipment & the amount of fish , corals , live rocks & live sand.

But bigger the tank , the easier to maintain the parameters.

so i feel u better have a plan first so we can help you along the way.

Most important, Happy Reefing :yeah:
