LR turn black

Hi, would like to check when a LR turn black, not too smelly, will it recover?

And can be be left in the tank (if it is still in cycling stage) or have to remove it?

Most likely it turned anaerobic (lack of oxygen), placing it in the open waters and with good circulation, the black stuff would disappear.

I have LR problem also. previously my lf grow with coralline algae, but now the coraline algae turn into white color. what could be the cause of this?

i think the white colour on the lr will smell bad,if it does.. the lr dont have enough water circulation..

its just the coraline algae die-off. should grow back if conditions like lighting etc. allow it.
