advise on sump design for 4ft tank

hi sifus here... presently my frd is having a 4ft tank and would like to build a sump to start on his marine tank.... so anyone here can advise on the design of the sump... eg the size.... number of compartment.... the use of each compartments.... and the apporiate size for refugium compartment....

can anyone give advise???
