UPS= Uninterrupted Power Supply

These are battery packs that store enegy when power is on and supply the energy when power is off. Of course the batteries have limited capacity, so the more Watts you want to supply and the longer you want to supply, the more you have to invest and the bigger the unit.

Really, the main thing you should really be concerned with during a powerfailure is the proper aeration of the water (skimmer for its aerating role, Power head...).

If you really have too much cash, next priority would be temperature (Fans, chiller) and very lastly would be lights (remember lights heat up the water...).

A few hours interuption if your tank is healthy and not overstocked should not pose a problem to my experience.

anyone knows how much it cost????"? :thanks:

UPS -

500-600VA cost about $90-$180 depends on brand and longer capacity it provide

1000-1500VA will cost from $600 onwards but have lower grade tpye should cost around $400

running time -

500-600VA 10-19 mins in computer

1000-1500VA 20 mins onward

all depends the total watts consumption during the battery is drain

for better protection to equipment get those with AVR - Automatci voltvage regualr buit-in

anything above 1500VA price shoud be starting from $800 to 1 or $2 K

APC UPS is highly recommended. Maybe can buy them during computer fair

Moxa
