SRC Member nanoteef20g Posted November 2, 2020 SRC Member Share Posted November 2, 2020 My nano tank is almost a month old and diatom bloom starts, i did a cycle with fish. Now i have two clownds and some cuc, is diatom bloom harmful for the live stock inside the tank? ahould i do something like chemicals? or should i wait it to natira go away. Also, should i need to do a water change during the bloom? or water change may adds more silicate in the water for the diatoms to sustain? reed_ridhwan
I added seachem phosbond to my filter and add turbo snails and hermit crab to help reduce the diatomsSent from Singapore Reef Club mobile app
JunHui
They are not harmful, just unsightly. They usually go away as the tank matures.
henryh
I'm going through the same phase, the diatom seems to stop intensify after a week and now it stays relatively the same. Hope it will go away by itself soon.
