Sent from Singapore Reef Club mobile app Hi I am also using a nyos 120 for my red sea200xl. But I have been having a lot of trouble getting it to skim right. Sometimes it bubbles over for no reason, sometimes skims a dry skim which I want sometimes a wet skim. It almost seems to have a kind of its own. Any tips on your settings? SRC Member Mahesh Posted August 3, 2021 SRC Member Share Posted August 3, 2021 I have the same.problem too. Every time after water change or dose, need to adjust the skim setting or it will overflow most of the time. I also couldn't get an optimized setting yet. Challenging.Sent from Singapore Reef Club mobile app
SRC Member Validator Posted August 5, 2021 SRC Member Share Posted August 5, 2021 Thanks Mahesh, For the skimmer one recent development is I got fed up with tuning the dials because it continued to overflow. So lifted the skimmer physically and noted the height out of the water that would produce the ideal skimmate and placed a platform under the skimmer. Am waiting for my skimmer stand to come. Not sure if I am doing the right thing but there you go...
SRC Member peedeers Posted August 6, 2021 SRC Member Share Posted August 6, 2021 If it is the nyos, then for water level, there is a minor and major adjustment. The open/close knob on top is the minor adjustment. The whole pipe which has the open/close knob also rotates - thats the major adjustment for water level. There are many people using the nyos 120 on the reefer 250 with no issues. Sent from Singapore Reef Club mobile app

I achieved water level control. May be I am still learning to optimize the settings. As long as I dont touch the skimmer, it skims well. If I clean the cup or sump or dose some major elements to adjust, then it goes eratic. I guess I will find the optimum setting overtime as I am not in the idea to change the skimmer.
