I brought a yellow wrasse a few days ago. But somehow, after releasing to the tank, it dive into the sandbed till now still cannot be found. Know that they will hide in sandbed if feel threaten but cannot be hidding in the sandbed for so long, right ?

Have a maroon clown, koran and scooter blenny.

Now really not sure if it die in the sandbed or kena eaten by the BTA !

Do any one has this problem like i do?

that's right, my green wrasse had the same behaviour when first introduced into the tank.

now that he (may be she) is acclimatized, will come out when lights on.

however one thing he luvs to do is to kick up sand from the sand bed.

come to think abt it. They are so good at hiding in the sandbed that it refused to come out then i am doing my major rescape of my tank and i sort of stir up the entire sandbed!

Makes me think that i am not getting my value for money given that i can only see it during the morning b4 i go work...

yellow wrasses are superb fishes lor... its very worth while to see it dart abt the tank the whole day (mine that is), it will go to its sandbed at around 30 min after lights out, and around 5 am, its up to send me off to school. so its one of the early "birds" lah.

i rmb once i did rescaping while its nesting and i placed a rock on top of it, then nvr come out for 3 days, then on forth day it dug a tunnel out lor. so dun wry abt ur yellow wrasse, its juz fine.

but recently, it got a 'tail' cut. i think its becos one of my unwanted pesky crabs stumbled upon it in the sand.

Thanks for all the information from you guys.. Indeed, today came back and saw the wrasse in the open ! And seem like my koran wanted to be cleaned by the wrasse.

But anyway, it eventually back to his/her cosy sandbed again.

If this is the case, do i have to worry for the feeding part ?
