long nose hawkfish

hi guys,saw the long nose hawkfish very very nice!!

can they be in a 2.5ft tank that has cleaner shrimps that is same size as it and a pistol shrimp that is smaller than the hawkfish?

same size shld be ok. but not smaller, i made the mistake of introducing a couple of small peppermint shrimps into my tank. within 5 secs, my longnose hawkfish had both of them for supper.

nope, i dun think it is ok. if u saw my longnose hawk gulping down both shrimps, u will be convinced.

2.5 ft is ok already la..

they dun actually swim alot...

New fish can be jumpy too, literally. So watchout. Have some sort of a cover for your aquarium for the fisrt few days, especially if you have established/aggresive fish.

i've been keeping a longnose hawkfish for some time now and must say he's very peaceful with everything else including the cleaner shrimp that was much smaller than him. Extremely hardy too... but i guess i was overcharged... 18 bucks.. any idea how much it's sold for elsewhere?

pistol is smaller so its not ok?

Pistol shrimp will hide most of the time in the day to be out of sight from other predator fish. They will only come out in the night to look for food.

Hmmm...then mayb I can give it a try....currently got 2 Blood shrimps....mayb add a pistol to try out...

Since u got 2 or more Pistol S in yr tank..R they the same spieces?
