Is it normal for Plankton to settle in 48 hrs?

Hi,

Had cultured several bottles of plankton (nano Strain). Have observed that the plankton will settle in ard 24 - 48 hrs time, leaving a distinct layer of clear water on top, and denser plankton below.

Is this normal?

Will appreciate any assistance. thanks :D

IMHO, yes. this is normal. as it is in DT. that's why the instuctions clearly states that u'll hv to shake the bottle every 2 to 3 days to keep the planktons suspended.
