Seio as a auto food feeder

Hi Folk,

I feed Nori to my tang every day before i leave the house. I notice that they prefer big size nori and they seems to like ripping it to pieces...however, this is very messy with peices of nori flying all over the tank!!!

Recently brought a Seio as a wave maker and because of the way my tangs eat their nori i find that often peices of nori get stuck in the pump.

I now put my seio on timer such that it switch of/on at 12 and another time at 3...guess what....the on off action seems to lossen up some of the nori that is stuck in the pump and when the pump comes on again, nori fly all over the place, the tangs seems to go crazy chasing after them.... no more wastage!!!

hehehe....yet another use for Seio.....

Will try it out.

But will repeated on & off shorten the live of the Seio? If so by how much? If it is negligable, I am sure more will follow suit.

that is why only 2 times a day.....me also scare the repeat again will spoilt but i do on/off it quite often to do maintainence because of nori being stuck to it....

Cut the nori into bite sizes, eg 2x2mm, this will not choke in the pump and all fishes will eat it, oh well almost all fishes

I use a clothes peg that is fully plastic with a sucker and just clip a chunk of nori to it. They will just swim to it and slowly finish them off. I think LFS sells them as well but > $10.

hehehe the objective of this thread is to show that there is alternative use for Seio....not really about seio jamming.....
