A bare bottom tank with filter and skimmer and some cut PVC pipping for the fish/s to feel secure.

The filter can be either air driven sponge or one of those hang on type with sponge inside. Best is to leave the sponge in the sump for a few weeks so that it is colonised with bacteria.

at least a cheap airdriven skimmer is a must frim my experience. When you add the fish, monitor the NH3 and NO2 very closely, because if not enough bacteria in your filter then the fish will die.

IMO,quantine tank sld not be set up on last min if u happen to have a sick fish.It sld have the normal cycle period and keep running all the time. :huh:

2 cent worth........ :rolleyes:

But won't we have to start again if there is something wrong with the newly acquired fish, like whitespots?
