You have a very beautiful tank with an excellent layout concept. The cabinet looks perfect in your living room :D .

Thinking of upgrading in the near future.... can intro the carpenter to me? How's his workmanship and his eye for details? How's his charges?

Me drooling over your tank. Will now seek approval from my Finance Minister.:lol:

Orgasbt,

Do let me know if you get approval. I can pass you the carpenter number.

The workers are friendly. They did just what i told them to do so.

Me no commision oh!

Price about the same everywhere for cabinet.

$200 -$250 per foot run.

I had a painful experience on Monday when I transfer my LS to my new tank.

Water in the new tank has been cycled and mixed with old tank water.

Started at 830 am,

took out the LS and put them into holding 2ft tank x 2.

Remove LR and soak with concetrated salt water to kill those crab.

I found 4 big crab dead. :D

I use my old sand for my new tank. Which is a big mistake.

The old sand has so many debris that make the water dark brown in my new tank.

Waited 3 hours but water could not clear up.

It is already 2:30 pm. LS cannot tahan so long in the holding tank.

decided to drain out the water and run out to buy salts.

No choice rush to as LFS at Serangoon North nearest to my house.

Pet mart was closed and many other LFS closed on Monday. Luckily one of the shop is open and bought 3 big pack of salts for 150G.

The brand of the salts. DEEP OCEAN SYSTEM SEA SALTS. only got this one.

Rush home and mix new salts of water.

4:30pm, new salts water is up and water no longer brown.

But it is cloudy.

9:30 pm. Water still cloudy. Suspect there is something wrong with the salts.

LS half dead at the holding tank.

No choice.... anyhow landscape and transfer LS to new tank. at 11:00.

A few fish is dead and corals is dying. Feel so sad :(

Next morning water still a little cloudy and suspected bacteria boom.

Live Bacteria dead and cause futher cloudy water the next two days.

All SPS RTN except 1 staghorn, the only survival.

On Tuesday I mix new water again using left over DEEP OCEAN SYSTEM SEA SALTS. To my surprise, this salt is fake or got problem.

After 4 days, the water could not clear up and colour is horrible.

I suspect this salts cause me big damage.

Anyway my nightmare is over. i am cycling my new tank.

Tank update after 6 days, drama.

bro...sorry to hear that....

I recently transferred sand from my old tank to the new one..I washed the sand quite thoroughly with salt water..imagine how much detritus buildup I have over 2 years  ....

After washing over few days....I still get murky water when I first dump them in....

yup...losing LS and corals is a depressing thing...

well...hope to see a great tank after this...all the best

Thanks bro.

To make it worst the salt is killing my LS.

Today another reefer came to my house and I show him the mix saltwater using DEEP OCEAN SYSTEM SEA SALTS. He is quite surprised too.

I did not use the old sand to cycle.

But I have been mixing my old water tank with new tank water.

very silly mistake to transfer the sand just like that. :pinch:

As for the Salts, I cannot say it is fake but definitely something is wrong.

I bougt 3 big pack, all are the same problem.

UV light is mounted on top.

Messy cable wires and complicated piping. Have to tidy up one of this day.

There are too many micro bubble generated by the skimmer return.

I have install an elbow on the return pump suction but it is not helping.

Anyone has any idea to reduce micro bubbles?
