Hi there guys,

Interested in keeping clams. Can any of you guys recommend

which website that sell clams online? Beside clamsdirect.

It is very hard to get clams in Penang. Singapore seems to have

more choices. What are the requirement for keeping clams in

terms of light? :)

Regards,

haha....welcome to SRC.

But......you didnt read the posting rules and posted an ambiguous thread title....which violates the SRC posting rules

I'll modify the title a little for you. ...this time.

For Clams.....keep under 150W, 250W or 400W MH. OR T5s

Yeah depends on what clam you looking for... some clams like crocea or maxima require very strong light while squamosa or derasa require much little light..... But at least try to have t5 or Mh

clams are very hardy compare to other life stocks....i had lots of problems with my tank over the past months resulting in fishes being wipe out and half my corals dying, but never once did me clam died on me.....

from personal experiece, the things to note are:

- Never detach the clams if they are fixed on rocks.

- Look out for prymid snails, they can be very very problematic

- I have keep them using PL before but until i switch to MH, i did not realise how 'unhappy' they were.

- Don't move them unless absolutely have to
