How To Care For Sun Coral?!?

Ok, a stoopid mistake I made by listening to the LFS and purchase a sun coral on impulse.

Having read up about it, I then realise that it's one of the hardest coral to keep... mainly because it don't need light, need strong current and require individual polyp feeding.

Anyone has any experience in keeping them that they can share... the polyps are all closed and I haven't seen it opened yet even when I try target feeding it with invert filter food using a syringe...

Maybe an expert would want to adopt this sun coral?

Yes, sun corals are one of the most beauty corals.

A few places have them, Hawa** M, ML etc.

Actually, all corals needs lighting and all corals needs supplements and feedings.

Sun corals need shading with lights. You may need to put it in a small container and pull it out to feed it for some time.

What kind of lightings do you have ?

tik u going off topic.

no need to know abt light mah.

ppl talking abt suncoral which

dun need much light.

corals that need light to help

them produce food is more greenish

in colour generally.

suncoral u need to target feed them.

as they got each polpy. each one need

to be feed. quite tedious work.

u can cut small shrimp meat place it near

their "mouth".

Suncoral are active only at night.

Place them under rocks from lights, n

ensure there's a ample current blowing

at them. Its a beauty, but not for

lazy reefers.

jsoon, sun corals need minimal lightings and reefers normally put them under shade. As for feeding, there are few preferences. Some senior reefers here took the effort to take them out and put them in a container with live brimp shrimps to feed them. As for myself, I am those lazy type :P .. I just target-fed it with DT's live plankton and Salifert coral food. I will think the first method is one of the best, though it may take a bit of your time and effort. Just my 2 cents .. :D

Will try the removal and target feeding method.... sorry folks... I might not be giving it up after what I saw today... I mean tonight.. hehe... B)
