ya, Big ones r the same as what we bought from market. its the "Baek Dor". Can steam and eaten with lime/chilli/soya.

its currently co-existing with a 8mm tiny kelong chi and it feeds on seaweed. (vege fish!). looks harmless but still in doubt if it will live peacefully with my LRs..

. ..will snap some images and post it up. its really very small 2.5cm.

Finally drop this fish into the main tank last night. Settled down with the rest of the reef fish with occasional scribbles with the existing occupants.

Woke up this morning to find big patches of weeds disappeared.. guess its ok if it don't nip on the sponges or zoos

Rabbit fishes are great algae eaters, they have razor sharp fin rays that can inflict a painful cut; in fact, some species have poisonous glands along their spines, which immediately releases a toxic substance into the inflicted cut. This has made the rabbit fish less than popular than Tangs in our hobby. :D

Thus, please be careful when handling them. ;)

thks. aways used a cup to scope it up

anyway the fish had died.

the moment it got acclimatized in the main tank, it stops eating algae or seaweeds. Instead it tries to feed on flake food like the rest of the fishes.

Either its not getting nutrition from the flakes or its suppose to eat strictly vege,

it gets very skinny and finally dies :nuke:
