Differentiation Between DI and FR Unit

Hi Bros and Sis,

Please advise, is there any difference between a DI and a FR unit? Wat happen if both is being used together? Is it better or is a waste of money? Thanks

DI is for you to input tap water, and come out fresh water that are cleaner.....FR is for you to pump in your tank water and depending on what media you put in, it removes the targeted impurities....

For my case, i don't find FR useful as you need another pump to power it....but DI is actually quite good especially when your tank is still need and can't take in the nurtient existing in the tap water....

I was thinking, DI has the cpability to remove some impurity thus is there still a need to have a FR? this way I can save cost. Thanks.

PO4 still get introduced into your tank via food etc so a FR with PO4 remover media is still recommended.
