SRC Member Reeffer Posted June 7, 2005 SRC Member Share Posted June 7, 2005 i got an elibru eballast for 36w pl, can i use it to drive the 39w t5? also, anyone can advise whether using a ballast without preheat features will shorten the lifespan of the tube drastically? in which case i would probably be getting a t5 ballast instead. SRC Member kamiru Posted June 7, 2005 SRC Member Share Posted June 7, 2005 :Think should not have prom, but the bulbs will be under-rated. That means the intensity is not as strong as a 39w ballast. My 2 cents.
HorizonVentures
If the Elbiru E-ballast you have there indicates 36W - 39W. there shd not be any issue for you to drive 39W t5 tubes. SRC Member Reeffer Posted June 8, 2005 Author SRC Member Share Posted June 8, 2005 my ballast can drive 36- 40w, just needed some feedback on how quickly the tubes deteriorate without true t5 ballast?
Sponsor dr evil Posted June 8, 2005 Sponsor Share Posted June 8, 2005 my ballast can drive 36- 40w, just needed some feedback on how quickly the tubes deteriorate without true t5 ballast? with a sudden shock, it will shorten the life of the tubes. We really cant tell visually but can tell by using a lux meter. to avoid this, use a t5 eballast instead.
