Hi dsam,

Hey, that's the same ht as my tank! Might wanna consider the width though. Will be easier to aquascape if it's 2.5'. ;)

The DARTs are relatively quiet compared to the md. I've mounted the pumps onto a 15mm wooden board and 2 layers of rubber to absorb the vibrations. Flow-wise no complaints. Figure that with the friction loss and head, I'm getting abt 5000l/h or more.

Looking forward to seeing your tank soon. Let me know if I can help. Who's your tank maker?

Cheers!

Mark

Still in the process of getting quotations and planning. Will be looking for Gilbert from MarinePets @ Katong Odeon . Heard of him?

So, what will you be planning to stock? SPS? :yeah:

Yo Mark,

2 ft more than you oni wat. I'll be probably into mix reef. Currently having 3ft x 1.5ft x 2 ft (H) with I-Aqua overflow box and Macro Skimmer.

Once everything is comfirmed and will start to proceed the project. Tank thickness of 12mm will be sufficient. Current tank will convert to Fish Only Tank ###### quarantine tank.

Marine Equipments to be used for Marine Tank 2 Project :

1.) 6ft x 2ft x 2.25ft Main Tank

2.) 3.5ft x 20" x 20" Sump

3.) Return Pump, OR6500 or Sequence Reeflo Dart

4.) 2 X 150W MH, 1 X 250W MH & 2 X 80W Actinic

5.) 1/3 HP Daeil Chiller (existing)

6.) Tunze 6060 X 2

7.) Tunze WaveBox (considering)

8.) RM Dual Beckett

9.) RM W.C

10.) RM Kalkwasser Reactor

11.) ML FR (existing)

12.) ML D/I filter

13.) Resun MD55 for beckett

Above are the tentative equipments to be purchased/use for the 6 footer project. ;) Pls do recommend other products which you think is even better or I have missed out.

Will be looking for Joe P to start fabrication for the customised dual beckett.

Bro, how long have you been running your tank system? No probs with the darts?

make sure you plan your overflow properly if you want to use wavebox.  Better to span the overflow the whole length of the tank's back if you can spare the space.  So make tank 2.5 ft and use the 0.5 ft as the overflow.  cheers

:) Thank you Weisoon,

I have in fact already a 6 ft cabinet in my house nw. Tat was previously for fresh water tank, now no choice but to go for 2ft width for the main tank. <_< If not, will definitely go for 2.5ft width.

I intend to have the overflow system to run across 2ft x 6". Wat do you tink? Guess, the wavebox should be able to place at any corner. :)

Weisoon, is the wavebox really tat good? Or a few 6060 are just as good liao? Me will not go into SPS so soon, at most oni a few. I want to concentrade on the LPS first. :yeah:

Really appreciate your advise. :peace::thanks:

If you span the overflow at 2ft x 6 inches, i.e. the overflow at the left or right end, if you adjust the wavebox too high amplitude, then the overflow box may run dry, i.e. no water flowing into box for a very short period of time. You may run into flushing noise if running durso. Frankly I have not run this way before on a wavebox, maybe some reefers here who have used the wavebox can contribute.

If going LPS, then may not need wavebox. Some Tunze on controller is good enough. For SPS, the better way is use a rotatable tunze coupled with wave making is best for random water movement.

Gilbert's tank maker is quite good. Remeber to ask him to make Aquatechnic style for the silicone bonding. I know because I used the same tank maker.

dsam

Actually Gilbert does not make tank, just his tank maker. I also went through Gilbert but end up working with the tank maker direct for my tank.

Did not post anything in Members Tanks & Specs as my setup not good enough. Moreover, my tank setting up is taking a very long time....since last year April, ask Mark and he can vouch.

So as not to disturb Mark's thread, if you need anything, just PM me. Cheers.

Hope everything is going smooth for your setup. ;)

Thanks weisoon.

Just did a test run. Everything seems good. Flow from the pump that's direct to tank is strong. Flow from the other pump seems abt right...stronger than it previously was. ;)

Hi all. Had the time to work on 2 things over the weekend.

Constructed a stand for my FR which will bridge over the 2 Sequence DARTs. Also added 2 colling fans on the stand for the DARTs. ;)

1st pic: how it'll all be mounted.

Completed and installed in the cabinet. Used black wood-grained laminating paper all over the stand to go together with the rest of the cabinet. ;)
