Design of sump

as above.

would like to get a new cabinet with new sump for my 60cmx60cmx70cm nano tank.

would like to have refugim and contain a RM mini beckette in the sump.

can someone help to suggest how to design one?

One important tip: Place your skimmer to receive water that comes direct from the oveflow.

It is this water that contains the most DOC and would greatly improve skimmer performance

what pump should i use for the skimmer? i using md40 when it place out sump.

How about place the skimmer after the refugium?

Overflow -> refugium -> Skimmer ?

Because in my case: Overflow -> skimmer -> refugium -> return

I got oily water at return, probably due to bad flow and some DOC from refugium. Growing macroalgae, few snails, a cuke, and 1 fish.

The last action I resolved it is by applying a surface skimmer placed at return and sucked back to skimmer. Also reduce the sump water level. Its help.

So, I wonder, if place skimmer right after refugium, won't it more efficiently gunk out all the DOC?

I think ur sump is right.

Read somewhere if u were to skim aft ref, u might remove the good bateria in them.

Not too sure where the oil comes from.
