what is wrong with prata?

i have bought a prata last sunday but ever since i put it in my tank, during the day it shrink, exposing its 'spines', only open during the mornings.

wonder if its ok.

plz advice me a little

i didn't see its feeders yet, but have tried feeding it with frozen mysis, seemed to be bot feeding

Hi, where did u place the prata? on the sand bed or on ur rock scape?

Secondly, wad lightings are u using?

From my own experience, some pratas will expand the moment u put them into the tank, others might take a whiel b4 they expand. .

i have tried both on the sand bed and fit onto a small dented hole of a liverock, as my prata has a cone base.

same thing happens, starts to shrink during the evenings. now's 1.22pm, still open.

my lights are not very strong, dymax 30+watts t5s one blue one white. not very sure

the place i've placed it has the lowest flow already.

currently only have one coral beauty and one six line wrasse, both not going near the prata.

Lowest flow in your tank may not be low enough...

Coral beauties can be real rascals to meaty corals like pratas...

Patience.....patience......sometime it take quite a while for the coral to bloom......

Recently after my rescaping.....my red jewel also throw its temper.......its been almost > than a month before it settle now.....now only beginning to blomm a litttttlllleeee bit only.....thought up car liao!

By the way al least your prata opened.....so should be ok.....prata very tough one.......meantime, remember to check your parameter.....especially you dKH & Calcium level......

bro rav-65, will keep an eye on the coral beauty. if its spotted pecking on my prata, you can be sure i'll take it out

bro kschew1498, at least its not the prata spinning guess i'll wait for a few days and observe my prata's behaviour, give it more time to settle down.
