Is the Longnose Hawkfish safe?

Dear all,

Saw the Longnose Hawkfish at Ah Beng's shop yesterday and was very tempted to buy.

I read on liveaquaria that the fishes in the aquarium should be bigger than the Longnose Hawkfish, otherwise they may be eaten.

The one in Ah Beng's shop is about 2 in and the fishes in my tank are all either than size or smarll.

Please share your experience on the Longnose Hawkfish. Will it attack smaller fishes.

not sure about attacking fish... but it will attack shrimps almost double its size. all my CS and FS go reporting liao

I have a 3 inch longnose for more than 1 yr, it has never disturbed any of my 3 cs, harlequin, boxer. But beware when you put in any ornamental shrimps like ###### and porcelain, it will definitely attack. Not known to attack any smaller fish. It does not even bother the smaller flame hawk in the tank.
