tank setup 3ft x 2ft x 1.5ft

lighting 2 x 14000K DE 150W MH

with two "blue" light tube, one of which is not working.

don't even know if blue tube is FL, PL or T5. :(

as keeping only bubbles, mushrooms and leather, perhaps MH is an overkill ?

for pleasant viewing, i really like the actinic blue. ;)

i think its called T5 ?

so, i am confused if i should change my lightings.

please let me have your comments, suggestions or recommendations. :thanks::bow:

hi nautical,

if youre looking to get High Output T5 fixtures, that is, with the e-ballast and end-caps all done up in a convenient light casing, i'd recommend you check out Nature aquarium at balestier rd. its a freshwater planted aquarium, but they make their own HO T5 sets, and they give you a cheaper price without the tubes. you can then buy your preferred marine T5 tubes.

I got my latest set at 3x39w in an Atman 3ft casing for $120 without tubes. really good price i think. its not an osram e-ballast or what, but then again, i doubt the other lfs's retrofits use high end ballasts either as they are usually hidden and not verifiable.

well, hope that helps ya.

cheers,

ian

hi ian,

thanks for the information.

i have now realized that i indeed have two T5s alongside my MH.

since the tube blew, so the best for me now is to buy two new actinic blue tube.

thanks again. appreciate your input which makes reefing more enjoyable and rewarding. :thanks:
