hi guys ,

read through the net and some website have a reccomadation on how many number fishes are allowed in the tank base on its size and type .

currently i have a stable tank which maintain nitrate level at 12.5ppm ( weekly water change).

current tank mate is

1x flame angel

1x true perc

1x sunburst anthias

2 x cleaner shrimps

1 x fire shrimp

all in my 2 feet.

my question is i would like to have a coral filled tank , but does coral contribute to ammonia which in the later stage break down into nitrate.

filtration system is prizm and external eheim 2215

thanks to all :peace:

3 fishes in a 2ft is pretty ok since you have a prizm skimmer helping you.

just remember to keep up with the water changes.

one concern would be the sunburst.

anthais like open space to swim so the sunburst might feel abit restricted.

also, anthais are fed rather frequently. need to check on this cos overfeeding might give you problems.

adding in corals are ok as long as done in stages, not too many in one shot.

note that fishes tolerate nitrate much better than corals. flame angel might nip on some corals i think, better check.

btw, how's the sunburst doing?

i am lucky enough to get a reef safe flame. had not seen it nib at at coral so far.

sunburst love to hide , however will eat when it come to feedig time . not too concern.

dun want to swim. haiz, a pity, such a nice fish.
