Schuran Jetskim skimmer

Recently, i got a Schuran Jetskim 150 for my 4x2x2 feet tank after much consideration.

All i have to say generally i am satisfied with the performance.

However, i feel Beckett still give me more waste than the Schuran.

Currently, one of my tank is running a beckett and the other is running a schuran.

Tank capacity is similar but the Live stock are different etc. Therefore it will be another 2 months or so before i can conclude safely which skimmer is more effcient.

Criteria:

Cost of skimmer

Wattage of pump used

cheers!

Can all Schuran users kindly post some pictures of their skimmer in action here?

Skimmate waste looks good to me, not sure why you derived on the "feel" that beckett gives more waste?

The beckett can produce more skimmate on the same tank than a Schuran.

However, the Schuran only uses a Aquabee 2000 pump which is 35 watt, so i have no complains. :D

So i reckon it is the same comparison to lovers point of view in being fast and furious (short satisfaction) vs slow but sensuous (long and continuous satisfaction) ???? :eyebrow:

Typical of Americans and Europeans hahhahahaha

Schuran jetskim 150 uses Aquabee 2000i pump, 35 watt.

Schuran jetskim 200 uses Eheim 1250 pump, (cant remember wad wattage, less than 50)

hmm..., thinking of changing to a Schuran as well.

Just 1 question. is there a difference in putting the skimmer in the sump and outside? My beckett is in sump and I am experiencing performance variation due to the water level in the sump due to evapouration. I am thinking getting a skimmer which I will put outside.

Any big brother can explain? :thanks:

Mine is the Schuran jetskim 200 model

acidjazz and iecman's are Schuran jetskim 150.

If you are refering to mine and iceman's of course different  But if you're referring to acidjazz's, its probably due to bio-load.

no outsump for this skimmer?

Schuran Jetskim 150 and 200 are both in-sump and out-sump skimmers.

However, i cant remember if schuran jetskim 100 and 120 are in or out sump.

At least get a Schuran Jetskim 150 as its rated to handle 1000 litres of water.

This skimmer do not need a feeding pump. U only need one pump n it come with the skimmer. my bio-load is moderate. I fed the fish everyday with cyclopee n fomular 2 and henry's food on alternate days

IMHO, i think it'll not have this problem, cos the outlet of the Jetskim need to be above water level if u put it in sump.
