acidjazz
Recently, i got a Schuran Jetskim 150 for my 4x2x2 feet tank after much consideration. All i have to say generally i am satisfied with the performance. However, i feel Beckett still give me more waste than the Schuran. Currently, one of my tank is running a beckett and the other is running a schuran. Tank capacity is similar but the Live stock are different etc. Therefore it will be another 2 months or so before i can conclude safely which skimmer is more effcient. Criteria: Cost of skimmer Wattage of pump used cheers! acidjazz
Skimmate waste looks good to me, not sure why you derived on the "feel" that beckett gives more waste? The beckett can produce more skimmate on the same tank than a Schuran. However, the Schuran only uses a Aquabee 2000 pump which is 35 watt, so i have no complains. acidjazz
Schuran jetskim 150 uses Aquabee 2000i pump, 35 watt. Schuran jetskim 200 uses Eheim 1250 pump, (cant remember wad wattage, less than 50) Quote 300 Gallon Reef Paradise 6X2.5X2.5 FT Tank : 4x2x2 ft sump : 2x1x2 ft refugim Skimmer: Deltec AP851 Calcium Reactor: Lightings: Aqualight T5 Retrofit, 150 watt MH X2 Chiller: Hailea HC-500A model w/ Aquabee 2000 Ozonizer: Hailea HLO-300 Digital ozonizer Wavemaker: Tunze 6080, Tunze 6060 Return Pumps: Aquabee 5000 x2 Other equipments: Aquabee 2000, Quietone 1200, 5L Co2 Cylinder w/ Dupla regulator American Marine Wireless Thermometer Reefing is a dedication, not a competition. SRC Member zehuan Posted November 8, 2005 SRC Member Share Posted November 8, 2005 hmm..., thinking of changing to a Schuran as well. Just 1 question. is there a difference in putting the skimmer in the sump and outside? My beckett is in sump and I am experiencing performance variation due to the water level in the sump due to evapouration. I am thinking getting a skimmer which I will put outside. Any big brother can explain?

If you are refering to mine and iceman's of course different But if you're referring to acidjazz's, its probably due to bio-load.

acidjazz
no outsump for this skimmer? Schuran Jetskim 150 and 200 are both in-sump and out-sump skimmers. However, i cant remember if schuran jetskim 100 and 120 are in or out sump. At least get a Schuran Jetskim 150 as its rated to handle 1000 litres of water.
