Diying acrylic tank

hi Folks! am thinking of diying my own tank using acrylic..... my tank plan is 24"L x 18"w x 30"H.... how many mm thickness of acrylic should i used? anyone that has diy a acrylic tank pls advise? Thanks in advance! :P

Yo bro Tev! I DIYed tank acrylic tank doors before and I guess the thickness for marine setup applies as well of coz the thicker the better I've seen 12-15mm thickness for acrylic tanks ;)

I saw mainly 3ft and 4ft... I guess the good thing abt acrylic is u can bend it easily hence u can get them to make seamless (rounded edge) tanks... which IMHO is very chio but of coz the px is :shock:

I'm thinking of going into SH and pipefish too so I'll need lotsa pointers from ya leh bro tev :bow:

Yah... 12mm was what they recommended in RC... i do one testing first.... if succeeded than i go :evil:

Yah can be done, but more work lah.... if can do a basic tank properly i very happy liao! :P

using chorofoam.... only glass used silicon. :)

The last time I did a acrylic tank for my Vivarium the shop used both chloraform and silicon... well it lasted me 3yrs before I decided to tear the whole thing apart :evil:

haha.. but i think applying a layer of silicone is better leh.. haha.. :lol:

Yes bro tev is better to use a 2nd layer of silicon as its water proof and its better IME B)
