DIY Kalk Doser

anyone done a DIY kalk doser ???

kind to share the details , process and materials used !!

I use either a round or rectangle plastic container and silicon a plastic valve (that can be adjusted by turning the screw) at the side near the base of the container. This plastic valve is green in colour and should be available at selected LFS. Never use the metal types (though more easily available) as the Kalk does not react well to metal.

I am toping up my freshwater using a similar set up. Adjust it to about 1 second per drop and now only need to refill the container once a week (those electronic auto top up designs are too "chim" for me. I just place the box on top of my sump and drip it into the last chamber. I guess the drip rate will depend on your evapouration rate of your tank.

can we get the drip (i assume u r using the medical one) easily from the pharmacy?? tks.

is there one selling in pharmacy or you recyled it from some other sources ... if so how do you cleanse the dripper

my wife is a nurse, so i ask her to get one for me.

just cut a hole on top and pour the kalk into it, you can also set to drip for a drop per second.

What is the speed of the drip will take a bit of trial and error. Once determined, I now just filled up the container once a week.
