12W is very impressive... will save a lot of energy in the long run... you looking for a Deltec also? :o If you are planning to sell your Tunze later, let me know :)

As for your tuning of the Tunze, just leave it for a few days :)

ok one thing i notice about the Tunze skimmer, whenever i feed cyclop-eeze plus zooplanton the foam level drops for like 10mins then rises ... my weipro's foam on the other reacts almost immediatelyand never drops til all food gone. Its almost like the Tunze pauses skimming for a few minutes to think it over whether to skim away good food. :lol:

guess this statement Tunze made about their skimmers is true afterall

Yes I think that is a very valid reason for that... I've been trying to get someone to verify that statement... observe it a little longer will ya? :lol:

Emm... something ain't right... how come the bubble can get so violent suddenly... are you sure you install it to recommended height? If I am not wrong, Tunze skimmers are water level sensitive :)

installed at 90mm max water level, it got mad cos i turned of my weipro so more shit suddently went to it mah lol

Well if the Tunze is already foaming... then you can decom your Weipro already... no point running 2 skimmers :lol:

nah let both run dont forget i got sps corals, nitrate must try to get it to zero mah.

Ok lah... but remember intense skimming can only reduce the amount of new NO3, those existing ones will remain in the water (to be breaked down by others)... by not adding more NO3 is a good step already :)

First time i taking closeup of my sps. So late liao they still asking for food hehe .. the water cloudy cos i just added agramight powder.

Some parts of the sps are white and bare cos i had scrapped of the hair algae that grew on some of the tips when i first got it.

Still running Tunze only but theres no skimmate, i think what has happened is for my weipro the water from my tank is drawn directly to it b4 going to the first compartment of my sump where the filter wool is ... but now that i have bypassed the weipro water is thrown direct to the wool then goes to the second chamber of my sump where the Tunze is .... probably why i cant get much skimmate although the Tunze is foaming very well.

Anyway i just came back from a long debate and discussion with a friend of mine who is the pioneer behind Singapore's 'New Water' treatment plant. He laughed at me when i told him we spend money buying skimmers. Showed me how they removed all the shit from sewage water and turn it to drinking water. Gave me a secret weapon to try, he said with it i dont need any skimmers :o It removes any particles smaller than 0.01 ppm thats all i can say ...

I have decided to merge using a skimmer plus the secret weapon and see the results. Will keep u guys posted.
