SRC Member southpaw23 Posted August 15, 2006 SRC Member Share Posted August 15, 2006 i shall go build a 10 x 5 x 5 feet fibre glass tank for the sharks then. . and then run with one of those skimmers u see at coral farm. Actually...for a single black tip....u'd need about a 20 x 7 x 4 tank...approximately 4000 gallons to sufficiently house the specimen for it's entire lifespan....and they get to a lil over 5 feet in length.... A compromise would probably be about no less than 14-15 feet.... Been dreamin of a tanks like that for a while now...i believe someone posted a pic in reefcentral once...owner has a 20x7x4 ft tank with 2 baby black tips... SRC Member prata lover Posted August 15, 2006 SRC Member Share Posted August 15, 2006 i will try to come up with a new idea or plan. . . i want a tank that the general public such as friends and relatives can appreciate. eg. As reefers, we understand that black tang is rare and therefore very impressed with whoever has it. However, my brother or girlfriend will only say "you must be mad to spend $400 on a black colour fish" u feeling me? i believe all reefers who own a black tang is definitely not to show off but they are just happy with what they got.its definitely not like what you claim to be "mad" for spending $400 for a BLACK fish. gene_ts
A black tang definitely good to show off to fellow reefers, but only restrict to reefers. Sharks on the other hand can show off to ordinary people too.
